My Story

Lorena is a 37-year-old Mexican with an accounting and finance professional background and a wealth of international experience.

She has obtained a master’s degree in finance, solidifying her expertise in the intricacies of financial management. Seeking to broaden my horizons, she has pursued an MBA in Strategic Leadership in Madrid, where she has gained valuable insights into organizational dynamics and management strategies. Lorena has obtained in 2020 a Ph.D. in Accounting, delving deep into the theoretical underpinnings of accounting and financial practices. Her research was about the business innovation process of the SMEs and its impact in the financial performance.

Lorena has also been ventured into the corporate world, as a Finance Analyst, Cost Accountant and Reporting specialist. She has made an intensive managerial training at Robert Bosch Mexico and Germany, where she was provided with invaluable international knowledge and exposure.

Lorena is currently based in the Netherlands with her husband and her daughter. Driven by a desire to broaden her skill set and embrace new challenges, Lorena has made the bold decision to transition into project management in Saxion. She is glad to be part of the Smart Mechatronics and RoboTics Group because she work with cross-functional teams and she can create strong stakeholder relationships, especially with the innovative SMEs of our region.
